We love the people of Wyandotte County. Our ability to engage community and build meaningful relationships with the people who live, work, worship and serve here is our foundational strength. It is through these relationships we practice our values of empathy, creativity and collaboration in every project we direct and every program we implement.
CHC is an organization comprised of C-level leaders from local hospitals, clinics, public health, universities and health foundations. Leadership is not only what the organization provides but it is inherently who we are as the Community Health Council. CHC excels at identifying health improvement opportunities, designing shared strategies and maximizing the collective genius that exists between the various collaborators to implement effective health initiatives.
The Community Health Council of Wyandotte County of today, and tomorrow, is unlike any organization you’ve encountered before. But just because our vision for the future is changing, we still look back at our journey with pride. Among our accomplishments so far:
- We were part of the establishment of the WyJo Care specialist network
- We helped to manage the expansion of Federally Qualified Health Services in Wyandotte County
- We oversaw a 40% reduction in the number of uninsured residents in Wyandotte County since October 2013
- We were named by KDHE as lead agency to help reduce obesity, diabetes, heart disease and stroke in Wyandotte County
