Shalese Clay

Project Coordinator
Cradle Kansas City
Every Baby to 1
Shalese grew up in Kansas City Missouri, graduating High School from Hickman Mills. She is continuing her education, working on her Bachelors Degree in Health Care Management, while actively advocating for Maternal and Infant Health issues. Her soul focus for the past four years has been on advancing the health of women of color.

As a Project Coordinator for Cradle KC Shalese works alongside Mariah Chrans engaging families, making space for families to share experiences with decision-makers, and working together with health leads to educate parents on the importance of the Reproductive Health and Safe Sleep. In this role, Shalese provides project oversight for Every Baby to 1 in Wyandotte County.  Her goal is to eliminate any sleep related death with any child under the age of 1 on both sides of the state line.

Formerly, as a single mother, she experienced health disparities and quickly realized that she had to make change not just for herself but for her community. Shalese is currently married with four children, and has worked her way up in her career helping to combat the maternal health issues in her community, and becoming a voice to end health disparities.

Shalese is also the chair person for the Community Health Workers for the state of MO and brings awareness of the importance of Community Health Workers in the community and their value in improving health outcomes!
