    ABOUT THE H.E.A.T. CAB

    The Health Equity Action Transformation Community Advisory Board (HEAT CAB) was formed with the intention of activating the recently released Health Equity Action Transformation (HEAT) Report to provide a recognized platform for community to voice opinions and concerns about important decision-making processes that directly affect their life and well-being. The purpose of the HEAT CAB is to take action to improve lived experiences, to build trust, and to develop a mutual understanding between residents and the institutions or organizations that provide, or are seeking to provide services to the community.

    COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE KICK OFFThis workshop for Empathic Interview training was conducted by Design Impact and also included CHIP subject matter expert training for the Community Action Board.
    HEAT REPRESENTATION AT WYCO CHIP MEETINGS
    EMPATHIC COMMUNITY INTERVIEWS CONDUCTED214 empathic interviews were conducted with residents of Wyandotte County. Interviews centered around residents' lived experiences with health inequities as identified by HEAT Report and/or with any of the four CHIP priority issues
    HEAT CAB GOVERNANCE SUBCOMMITTEE DEVELOPEDThis subcommittee's role is to determine protocol for HEAT decision making and structure.
    DESIGN IMPACT WORKSHOPGenerated four community workgroups, each worked to synthesize data from empathic interviews, develop prototypes of community-based interventions, and narrow focus based on prototype experimentation and feedback.
