Alma Lopez was born in Mexico but grew up around here in Kansas City, Kansas. She grew up watching her mom be helpful and caring to people, which helped Alma realize the need for assistance and support in the community. This realization grew into a love for helping people in any way possible. Before becoming a CHW, Alma worked in insurance and customer service, where she was able to direct people to the resources they were seeking. In 2021, she joined CHC as a community health worker, which has helped her become more aware of the needs and struggles in our community. She wants to use this knowledge and awareness to be a voice for people, especially in the Hispanic and Latinx community, and show that there are resources and people out there to help when they are struggling.
