They/them
From Grand Rapids, Michigan, Teri is a musician who felt an urgency to begin community care work. This feeling led to Teri joining CHC as a Community Health Worker. In 2009, Teri made the trek to Kansas City to study music performance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. A songwriter, banjo player, and clarinetist, Teri likes to explore many creative, musical outlets in addition to their community-facing work. Before joining the CHC team, Teri served their community through their end of life care services, as an end of life doula. They continue this work, through their Midnight Meadow: End of Life Care organization, which aims to guide people towards all of their available options and resources for end of life care. Teri has always been drawn to community care, since they realize the great need for community-facing organizations for survival for those who are under-served, or even other artists, like themselves. Teri understands the need for advocacy, and looks forward to continue serving those who the system fails, while raising these concerns to those who can implement change in the Wyandotte community.
