Kinley Yangzom has a very unique and diverse background, having lived in several countries at different development levels. She was born in Bhutan, a country in southeast Asia. She became a refugee in Nepal at a young age with her family, where they struggled for stability for a few years. Then, she briefly lived in India for her continuing education, where she struggled in her work and school. While in India, she received her Associates degree in Arts. Finally, she moved to the US, where things are much different. Kinley is multilingual, speaking eight languages with only four being locally spoken. She sees that there are a lot of people that need help in our community, especially those that deal with language and culture barriers, and because of the struggles she's experienced, she enjoys helping those in need. As a CHW, Kinley hopes to help people fulfill their basic needs and get through disasters, like the pandemic, that heavily affect our community's wellbeing.
